One of the most stunning locales in the Santa Monica Mountains, 588-acre King Gillette Ranch is situated in the heart of the Malibu Creek Watershed, by the confluence of five major tributaries, and adjacent to Malibu Creek State Park.
Razor baron King Camp Gillette bought the property in 1926, which is where the space acquired its name. Gillette commissioned leading North Hollywood architect Wallace Neff to build him a "paradise on earth, California style." After Gillette's death, the property was bought by various owners including MGM movie director Clarence Brown, Claretian Order of the Catholic Church, and Soka University of America. Finally, in April 2005, King Gillette's Ranch was bought as public parkland by a partnership consisting of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA), the National Park Service, California State Parks, as well as a number of other state and local agencies and some private contributions. King Gillette Ranch opened to the public in June of 2007.
King Gillette Ranch is a beautiful, secluded area with a number of different spaces for different types of events.
